I run for Apex Town Council because …
I am a passionate community leader, dedicated advocate, and accomplished professional with a lifelong commitment to service and progress. Apex has given me so much – a place to nurture my family, build lasting friendships, and grow in ways I never imagined. Through years of volunteering, leading civic organizations, and engaging with neighbors from all walks of life, I’ve seen how transformative local government can be when it truly listens. That’s why I’m running for office: I want everyone in Apex to feel that same sense of belonging and opportunity.
As Chair of MOVENC PAC and MOVENC Foundation, I’ve worked to strengthen communities, support economic growth, and open doors for people across North Carolina. My experience as a small business owner has taught me firsthand the challenges and rewards of building something from the ground up, while my degrees in Chemical Engineering and Finance guide my analytical, data-driven approach to solving local issues.
For over 20 years, I’ve dedicated myself to community service – organizing grassroots efforts, mentoring emerging leaders, and supporting nonprofits. One moment that truly underscores my practical approach occurred when students in our neighborhood were suddenly reassigned to a distant school. Although they were allowed to remain at their former school, bus service was discontinued. Recognizing the burden on busy families, I negotiated a group rate with the bus company and rallied enough parents to share the cost affordably, ensuring our children stayed with their friends and easing the strain on parents. That experience demonstrated how powerful it is when community members unite – and how essential it is for leaders to back everyday solutions.
I’m motivated by a deep love for people: my friends, neighbors, and the young leaders growing up here. As a wife and mother with a child in college, I know our community thrives when parents feel confident about their children’s education, safety, and opportunities. By bringing fresh perspectives, proven leadership, and a commitment to inclusive progress, I’ll ensure every resident and every business has a voice in shaping our shared future. I truly believe Apex can remain a place where families of all backgrounds and businesses alike flourish, and where our children can look forward to bright, meaningful futures. I’d be honored to earn your trust and work together for a stronger, greener, and more prosperous Apex.
